Boeing 737 Artificial Reef
Chemainus, British Columbia

On January 14th, 2006 a former Canadian Airlines Boeing 737-200 was sunk in the waters off Chemainus, British Columbia, Canada.

This plane wreck was purposely sunk by Peter Luckham (http://www.divemaster.ca) and the Artificial Reef Society of BC (http://www.artificialreef.bc.ca) as an artificial reef for marine life and divers to enjoy. They are still running a deficit for the sinking of the plane so if you would like to donate please click on one of the links above.

Below are pictures of the Boeing 737 as it sat on the beach on Thetis Island, BC, Canada, the weekend before the sinking / lowering.

Below are some picture the day of the lowering / sinking of the former Canadian Airlines Boeing 737.
